Greenplum Parallel Database Integration with Hadoop Resulting from Cloudera and EMC Alliance

Sep 27, 2010

As part of the newly formed alliance between Cloudera and EMC Data Computing Divisions, Cloudera’s Distribution for Hadoop (CDH) will be integrated with Greenplum’s massively parallel processing database and data cloud platform. This will include Cloudera building a connector for high-speed bi-directional data transfer between CDH and Greenplum technologies, and the Greenplum sales team being trained on Cloudera’s suite of Hadoop products.

“Together EMC and Cloudera have a real opportunity to help companies change the way they collect, process and store data,” said Michael Olson, CEO of Cloudera. “Organizations can use CDH to inexpensively capture complex and structured data, while Greenplum Chorus utilizes its cloud-based platform to discover data from a variety of sources and enables collaborative analysis for end users.”
