SAN JOSE, CALIF., and REDWOOD SHORES, CALIF. 10-OCT-2006 Pillar Data Systems and Oracle, today announced the general availability of the Pillar Axiom storage system and Oracle Database 10g Accelerator to deliver a storage grid that simplifies administration headaches and helps eliminate complex personnel requirements for Oracle DBAs to better administer their storage requirements.

To facilitate the deployment of Pillar Axiom in an Oracle environment, the accelerator program guides users through the process of defining business and IT requirements to segment database objects into separate tiers of storage for optimal performance. Pillar Data Systems and Oracle work with clients to enable a true tiered storage infrastructure by using options for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) software.
