While developers haven’t mentioned which versions of MySQL are affected, Oracle is said to be patching some very important security holes in version 5.1.47. These holes include allowing attacks that could cause server crashes, obtaining unauthorized database access, and injecting code that could be executed on the server.

Oracle has announced the immediate availability of the latest release of MySQL Enterprise. Comprised of production support, monitoring tools, and the MySQL database this release also provides a key component in the form of MySQL Enterprise Monitor 2.2. This monitor will provide key query performance monitoring, improved security, and integration with MySQL support.
